Job description

We are looking for a passionate Junior Front-end Developer to join our second-stage rocket ship 🚀

You’ll be part of the Search Ads squad and will be in charge of maintaining, improving and adding new features to our amazing new Search Ads application.

Working hand-in-hand with back-end web developers to build all client-side logic, you will also be bridging the gap between the visual elements and the server-side infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop new user-facing features

  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use

  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

  • Find elegant solutions to usability problems

  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability

  • Stay up-to-date on new Web technologies that will make AppTweak better, faster, and stronger.

  • Participate in code review, pairing, and other forms of knowledge sharing

Job requirements

Must-have

  • Recently graduated with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or engineering.

  • You are fluent in English.

  • An understanding of asynchronous request handling and API’s.

  • Eager to learn about modern Web technologies.

  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset: you're hands-on and autonomous. You find creative solutions to problems in a fast-moving environment.

  • Team player: you enjoy working with others. You have a proactive attitude and you like to make things move forward.

  • Sensitivity to design in general and user experience.

Nice-to-have

  • Some experience in Web development using modern frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).

  • GitHub profile or link to open source work

  • Full-stack experience

  • You love food!

Our Tech team

Technologies we use

  • We're mainly relying on three different languages:
    • Ruby in the backend (for APIs and crawlers).

    • Typescript in the frontend (for our React SPA).

    • Python (mainly used by our Data Science team).

  • Everything is hosted on AWS and running on K8s, and we have created a robust CI system to develop and deploy our code quickly. We deploy directly from Slack!

We are organized by squads

  • One year and a half ago, we changed our internal organization by moving from a structure splitted by stack to something more features-oriented. We created cross-skill squads that are focused on specific parts of the tool to develop and maintain them more efficiently and quickly. Each of them is responsible for its roadmap, and everyone in the squad can participate in product discussions.
