We are looking for a motivated VP Engineering to join our leadership team and bring our engineering team (27 people working in a Product team of ~40 people) to the next level. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the engineering vision and enabling our company to achieve its growth objectives. If you have what it takes to help us grow, we’d love to hear from you!

Your Responsibilities:

Management:

  • Oversee people management of backend, frontend, and full-stack teams, directly supervising the Head of each team - all based in Brussels.

  • Define the recruitment plan for the whole tech team with C-level and lead recruitment efforts for the teams, ensuring the team is adequately staffed with skilled developers aligned with the company's objectives.

  • Develop a work environment that encourages individual fulfillment by strongly contributing to people’s career development.

  • Support the evolution of team members by actively utilizing the career frameworks we put in place, maintaining regular contact with them, and proactively finding solutions to ensure their progress.

Engineering Vision and Culture:

  • Closely work with the CTO to maintain a strong engineering mindset, expertise, and vision aligned with company goals.

  • Ensure the tech team has the right culture for a scaling company and implement processes suitable for growth.

  • Collaborate with the CPO to manage organizational structure evolution, promoting a culture of collaboration and initiative.

  • Ensure that team-project organization functions smoothly, gather feedback, and lead initiatives to address pain points.

Strategy:

  • Communicate closely with management, especially the CTO and CPO, to align tech teams with company strategy.

  • Define delivery processes and quality standards alongside the CTO and the Tech Team Head Ofs.

  • Provide technical leadership and vision for critical projects and company-wide initiatives, such as security and compliance.

  • Represent the tech team on people management-related topics when engaging with external stakeholders.

Job requirements

Must-have

  • You are fluent in English;

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or engineering;

  • 3+ years experience in hands-on coding;

  • 3+ years experience in leading and managing tech teams (10p+) within a tech company;

  • Previous experience in a SaaS company

  • Outstanding leadership & management capabilities, including the ability to successfully motivate and challenge a team;

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align engineering efforts with overall company strategy;

  • Experience with organizational development and scaling teams;

  • Technical expertise and a track record of successful project ownership;

  • Team player and over-communicator: the capacity to proactively share and ask for feedback, and look to add to the culture and skills of a growing team;

  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset; you're hands-on and can find creative solutions to problems in a fast-moving environment.
